Summer is a golden season in North Dakota, full of long evenings out on the fairway, great fishing and wonderful community festivals. One of our favorite things about summer is all the live music opportunities that pop up as the days progress.

Through the end of July, you can catch free concerts in Harmon Park on Thursday evenings after work by the City Band. The parks in Williston are beautiful, and Harmon Park is no exception. With updated playground equipment and bathrooms, picnic shelters, a skate park, its close proximity to downtown Williston (including Dairy Queen and a fabulous frozen yogurt place, MySwirl), and the Virgil Syverson Performance Center, bands love to play music in this centrally located park.

Also in Harmon Park, the North Dakota Chokecherry Festival is scheduled for August 8-9. This free festival is in its eighth year and always features several live music acts. This year, festival-goers will enjoy North Dakota favorite Tigirlily, two sisters from Hazen North Dakota with a sweet combined voice that appeals to folk, pop and country audiences alike. They will be followed by the Albequerque-based veterans band Missing Stateside that covers everything from Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones to White Zombie and Korn. Saturday will bring performances by Fargo-based October Road and The Last Echo, out of Bismarck, ND. In the morning, you can also hear music from local favorites, such as Teddy Talent Trek winners Rachel Richter and Conrad Kloepfer among others.

For our 80s-90s fans, Jack Russell’s Great White will be performing at the Raymond Center on Friday, July 25th. A favorite local band by the name of Shark Week will be opening for them. Tickets can be purchased at J Dub’s, Landmark Suites and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Later in the summer, a great line-up will be coming into Williston for one night only. On August 24, Tantric, Psychostick, and One Eyed Doll will all be playing at DK’s. Tickets for all three acts are a steal at $25 in advance or $30 at the door, and will be available soon at DK’s.

If you hear of live music being held at your favorite after work watering hole or at the little coffee shop down the street, get ahold of us! We are always happy to help promote local events and entertainment.
